What a Thai KOL/KOC quote doesn't tell you
Ask two published guides what a Thai micro creator costs and you get ฿5,000–30,000 from one and ฿27,500–50,000 from the other. Same follower band, same market, same year. That gap is not a research problem. It is what happens when nobody has said what "one post" includes.
Published rate cards don't agree with each other
Here are two 2026 pricing guides for Thailand side by side. The tiers carry the same names. The numbers do not line up.
| Followers | Guide A | Guide B |
|---|---|---|
| 1K–10K (nano) | ฿1,000–5,000 | ฿7,500–10,000 |
| 10K–100K (micro) | ฿5,000–30,000 | ฿27,500–50,000 |
| 100K–500K | ฿30,000–150,000 (band is 100K–1M) | ฿96,000–160,000 |
At the nano tier the two ranges never meet: one guide's ceiling sits below the other's floor. The tiers are cut differently too, with one guide treating 100K–1M as a single band and the other splitting it. There is no one Thai rate card to check a quote against.
The reason: "one post" is not one thing
Most of the price lives in the conditions rather than in the creator. The first guide prices usage rights at a 20–50% premium, category exclusivity at 25–100%, paid amplification at ฿5,000–20,000, each extra revision at ฿1,000–5,000 and rush delivery at 20–50%.
The platform moves it again. The second guide puts TikTok 20% above its Instagram baseline, LINE 30% above and a dedicated YouTube video 250% above.
Stack two or three of those and the same creator costs twice as much. A quote that is only a name, a follower count and a number tells you very little.
Five things to check in the quote
1. What the unit price covers
Shooting, editing, the number of revision rounds and the posting itself. Ask which of these sits inside the number and which is billed on top.
2. Usage rights: where, and for how long
Whether you may run the video as an ad, on which platforms and until what date. This is the most expensive line to discover after signing.
3. Whether media spend is included
Boosting is a separate cost from the creator fee. A quote that leaves it out looks cheap until the campaign starts.
4. What is actually guaranteed
Most quotes guarantee a number of posts, not a number of views. If a reach figure is promised, ask what happens when it is missed.
5. Payment terms, and what happens if delivery fails
How much is paid before filming, and whether it comes back when the creator does not deliver. Put the answer in the agreement rather than in a chat thread.
Compare on cost per 1,000 people reached
Once the conditions are written down the quotes become comparable, though not on price per post.
Divide the total cost by the reach it produced, then multiply by 1,000. That single figure lets you hold one ฿30,000 micro creator against six ฿5,000 nano creators.
Use the reach a video actually got, not the follower count. Followers are what the creator has. Reach is what you bought.
When a rate card is still useful
A published range works for a first sanity check as long as you stay inside one guide. Reading a number from one guide against a number from another is how budgets get set at the wrong level.
For the campaign itself, ask for the conditions in writing and convert every quote to cost per 1,000 reached. That is the comparison a follower count was never going to give you.
Published guides disagree. For the same 10K–100K band one puts a creator at ฿5,000–30,000 and another at ฿27,500–50,000. Until usage rights, revisions and boosting are specified there is no single answer.
Per post, yes. Per 1,000 people reached, not necessarily. It depends on the reach each one delivers, which is why cost per 1,000 is the comparison to use.
